The voice in me

It’s all about perspective.

Movies and cartoons always try to portray a narrative of what they want you to perceive as good or bad. 

Now that I am older I look at these characters with a different lens.  A lens that has seen the world through different seasons and experience.  I may have also done some petty revenge simply because I didn’t feel included or valued. I may have tried doing everything possible to remain relevant.  I may have channeled my energy, time and resources to doing certain activities to pass time.

All these and other reasons for the birth of  villains. There is always a good point. Good enough for you to justify why you did what you did.

Well in the Bible we hear Jesus turning tables at the temple disrupting the business of the day. If we look at it from one lens, He was truly a villain in someone’s story. What if there was a family relying on earnings from that business and that day all the sales were lost, someone could have slept on a hungry stomach.  But He did have a point a point that was good from heavens standpoint,  but from earthly standpoint it was a little out of range. 

So, actually having a good point depends on how you define good and what your boundaries around that are.

Food for thought: Being a child of God might mean your values of good are anchored on His word- His standards and His principles. With that said, maybe be none of them had a good point.
