The voice in me

Just yesterday, a colleague of mine shared a post with me about where we miss the mark when choosing careers. It stated that passion alone is not enough; you also need to consider your innate abilities and figure out a space in the market where you can thrive.
Boy, had I been told that a decade and a half ago, I wouldn’t be here today.
I chose a career path that I was not necessarily passionate about, nor did I fit into its natural ability bracket. It wasn’t my first choice, obviously, but it was the option available.
My biggest dream was to live to inspire the younger generation to be all they were meant to be, but I failed to do that for myself—the irony. I always wanted to work with children, to push them toward achieving their dreams, but I couldn’t stand up for my own. Instead, I chose to hide in the shadows. I chose to survive, and I learned to be quiet.
However as the storm passed, God’s mercy found me, and am slowly realizing that it was part of the plan. The dream is still there , my story was just in the making…. well maybe let’s say still in the making.
