Turning point

Chapter 1
“As we start the week, may the peace of God be with you, the light of His word guide you and the love of God lead you. Amen.” Those were the last remarks of the bishop as he stepped down the podium. The congregation roared “Amen” and all rushed to finally leave the parish. It was a rather a sad site, everyone eager to go back to their own business.
Michael finally broke the silence,”Who do they think they are fooling? Every Sunday they gather in this place but hearts faraway. Many don’t even know you and don’t even enjoy being in this place. They do not honor you with thier lives. You you still wish to withhold your anger? Clearly they don’t deserve any mercy .”With a heart full love and grace, yet grieved to the core, the Holy one responded “it saddens my heart that non search for me in earnest, but yet again love never fails. The sacrifice made on the cross will not go in vain, a time will come ,just be patient.”
The heavenly courts were silent, as all watched in utter dismay at how wicked mankind had decided to be. Turned their hearts from the creator, rejected the Holy one yet their lives were in misery.
Tasha quietly made her way out of the perish. She couldn’t wait to get out of this place. Had it been her choice ,she could have gone with all her friends to the lake have some fun before the school term began.
‘Tasha, remember today we will go to Sister Martha’s house. She hasn’t been feeling well lately and could need some company ” that was Ruth, Tasha’s mom, as gentle asshe could be, knowing clearly that her daughter was going to recieve the news with such range. “But mom I need to get to Suncity this afternoon, and you know how much this means to me. Please give me a break and let me live my life, atleast just this once” she fumed. “You can always catch up on other times. I know you and your friends are always planning these outings every now and then. But sister Martha is in need of our prayers.” “Very well then I will pray for her on my way, Bye mom , don’t wait up for me , I will be late.” With that She was gone.
Ruth drawing back a few tears, she turned to other ladies hoping to find back her composure and focus on only that which she could control. As for her daughter, she had clearly failed. She still had to go see sister Martha, the only woman who stood by them when she lost her husband last summer. Though church was supposed to be a place to find support, ‘Christ For All’ was just one cold place filled with people who only cared about their money, status, and self. Sister Martha despite all this was just a sweet soul who always had a heart for others. Ruth had met this lady only a few times but the love she had shown during her season of mourning was rare and touched her heart deeply. She really wanted to be there for her as well in her moment of need. But just as she started her car, a call from work came in. The story ended in her stuck up with work the rest of the afternoon right into the evening hours. Tired and drained she forgot all about Sister Martha.
Martha had been diagnosed with breast cancer some months back. She wasn’t winning the fight and doctors had told her it was just a matter of time. This particular Sunday, she sat in her cold empty home ,wondering if her life was worth it . All the 57 yrs of her life flashed before her teary eyes. The never ending argony did not make it any better. She had tried to be the better person in every situation life had thrown at her. But in the end, her children left her, her husband had gone off with a younger woman. All her savings had been used up in fighting the dreadful disease. It had been 3 months since she last set foot in her church, yet not a single soul had visited her. Was it all worth it. Was it really? She took her last breath and gave it all up.
Tasha had decided to hike since her mom was not going to allow her to have the car and the bus would take longer. She found herself in a red twin cab with the most jolly person she had ever met. He was kind, easy going with a great sense of humor. Just 20km away from Suncity, Tom the jolly guy, decided to overtake the overloaded truck that they had been trailing the past 5 minutes . After all the road ahead was clear enough. An old lady driving her SUV coming from a blind fold suddenly appeared in front of them . Tom quickly swaved off the road . Everything happened so fast. Tom lost control of the vehicle, the brakes failed and they headed straight towards an old ork tree that claimed the life of miss Little Tasha.
Tasha couldn’t recall the events . She woke up in a very bright room. With her was Martha.
They stared at each other. Neither one knowing where they were or what had happened. Both hoping that it’s just a nightmare that will end soon.
